ILLAWARRA are well and truly back in the State League netball division five premiership hunt after a morale-boosting win over Liverpool City.

The 51-36 victory booked Illawarra a grand final showdown with Wyong in Sydney on Saturday.

Coach Kerry Jones' side went into last weekend's preliminary final off the back of a disappointing display against Wyong in the major semi-final.

But Illawarra showed no ill effects from that defeat, jumping out to a 14-6 lead by the end of the first quarter.

The gap increased to 11 goals by half-time and the minor premiers went on with it from there.

Illawarra's shooters were in fine form, with Susie Scott landing 14 from 14, Ashleigh Larsen 13 from 15, and Stella Goodman 24 from 34.
