WESTS led the region's charge at the annual Illawarra District junior and intermediate netball carnival at Fred Finch Park last weekend.

Wests Lightning won the 13A division, beating Sydney side Cabravale, while in the 13B category, Wests Flower Power edged out Sydneysiders St Patrick's.

More than 180 teams - from across the Illawarra and South Coast, as well as Sydney and Goulburn - took part on a blustery day, with competitors' ages ranging from seven to 15 years.

Goulburn took out the 15As, with Corrimal Phoenix second, while Dapto Toolies won the 15Bs ahead of Northern Suburbs Bullets.

Berkeley Devils finished behind Gymea in the 10As, while Berkeley Power Girls claimed the 10C class from the Fairy Meadow Pink Panthers.

Woonona Superstars finished second in the 11Bs, while Corrimal won the 11Cs.

In 12Bs, Southern Highlands were second, while Yellow Capsicums Helensburgh were second in 12Cs.
