ILLAWARRA A1 netball minor premiers Corrimal booked a grand final showdown with the Vixens after scoring an easy win over Wests at Berkeley.
The Cadets beat Wests by just one goal in the penultimate round of the season, but at Fred Finch Park on Saturday they eased home 47-35.Corrimal skipped out to a 14-7 lead after the first quarter, but the Titans fought back to be down by just four at half-time. The gap was out to five heading into the final term before Cadets really stormed home.Defenders Elise Redfern and Melinda Sharpe starred for the winners. Shooting wise, Taryn Bates landed 11 from 14, while Kirsty Martin bagged 14 from 18 and Charlene Jones finished with 22 from 42.For Wests, Vanessa Sturman nailed 20 from 33 attempts and Tracey Evry shot 15 from 26. Sturman landed some fine goals under pressure, while keeper Cody Breasley also performed well.The season finale date is yet to be determined given several A1 players are involved in Illawarra's State League division five finals campaign, which starts in Sydney on Saturday night. Illawarra's division two State League team plays its final game for the season at Fred Finch Park tonight against ACT.
