ILLAWARRA'S challenging run into the State League division five netball finals continues in Sydney this weekend against third-placed Blue Mountains.

The competition leaders led by just one at the main break against another top-four outfit, Liverpool City, in last weekend's penultimate round, but eventually pulled clear to win 58-50.

With regulars missing from the attack end, centre Sarah Goodman adopted the role of workhorse, dominating in her drives to the circle and throwing some top passes into the shooters.

Illawarra, who led 42-36 going into the final term, were well served by their shooters Susie Scott (with 16 from 20), Ashleigh Larsen (21 from 24) and Stella Goodman (scoring 21 from 26).
