Liverpool Big Test Ahead Of Play-offs

COMPETITION leaders Illawarra should be given a good hit-out ahead of the fast approaching finals when they take on Liverpool City in State League division five netball in Sydney on Saturday afternoon.

Illawarra flogged seventh-placed Blacktown City 62-29 last weekend, but Liverpool are in third spot and represent a far tougher challenge in what is the penultimate round of the regular season.

Back in May, Illawarra scraped home by three goals against Blacktown, but last weekend they blew their rivals off the court from the start.

Illawarra shooters dominated again in the circle, Stella Goodman landing 27 from 30 and Ashleigh Larsen shooting 35 from 43.

In State League division two, Illawarra lost 46-36 to Blacktown City in Sydney on Tuesday night.

Ninth-placed Illawarra, who take on seventh-placed Sutherland Shire next round, were backing up from last Friday night's clash with the Fiji national open team.
