BNC Cricketers 1 took the outright lead in the Newcastle open netball championships with a 43-34 win over Hotel Delany on Saturday.

Five teams BNC Cricketers 1 (26 points), Gazas Sportz (25), Nags Head (22), Junction Hotel (18) and Mattara (18) are still in the hunt for the semi-finals.

Junction Hotel and Mattara drew 25-25 on Saturday and missed the chance to grab outright fourth. Gazas and Temperzone also drew, 33-33, and BNC Cricketers 2 narrowly edged out Nags Head 41-40.
