THE 2007-08 Hunter Academy of Sport netball talent development squad will end their activities for this year with a training day at The Forum at the University of Newcastle on Saturday.

The girls will have a break after the session on Saturday before regrouping late in January. The squad coaches are Jon Fletcher, Vicki Jansen, Joan Schubert and Rob Wright. Also, the academy coaches have invited a number of talented 14-year-old players who attended the squad selection trials to join an academy development group. The program for this group will aim to monitor the girls' progress and develop individual skills and appropriate fitness programs for them as potential future academy squad members. As indicated during a recent orientation meeting, the group will be involved in a brief off-season training schedule that will end before March. ? The cycling program is continuing its connection with Cycling NSW and the NSW Institute of Sport. The direct link is responsible for the development of cycling at regional and state levels and is assisting greatly in identification of talented athletes and in enhancing opportunities for selection in state teams or squads.Mick Chapman remains academy head coach and is responsible for the supervision of the program delivery and the technical development of the squad coaches.
